How to Rotate Elements in Canva

Here is how I rotate elements in Canva. The process is the same for images, videos, shapes, text, and vector graphics.
You can follow the same steps across different object types, and the rotation readout helps you stay precise.
Basics - Rotate Elements in Canva
Click the element to select it.

Find the rotate icon at the bottom of the element.

Click and drag left or right to rotate the object.

Watch the on-canvas number to see the rotation angle.

Rotate to common angles like 90° or 180° as needed.

This works the same for images, shapes, and other elements.

Set a specific angle - Rotate Elements in Canva
If you want a specific angle like 98°, manual dragging can be hard to get exactly right.
Click the element, click Position, and in the Arrange section use the Rotate field.

Enter a value between 0 and 360, press Enter, and the object rotates to that exact angle.

For example, type 98 and press Enter to set 98°.

Rotate multiple objects - Rotate Elements in Canva
Select all the objects you want to rotate together.

Click and drag on empty space to marquee select elements, or hold Shift and click each object you want.
When the selection is active, use the rotate icon to turn them together.
You can also open Position, go to Arrange, and enter a rotation value to apply it to the whole selection.

Try 120 to see all selected elements rotate to 120° as a group.
If you need more control over selecting, see how to select multiple elements in Canva.
Final thoughts - Rotate Elements in Canva
Click and drag the rotate handle for quick adjustments, and use the on-canvas angle readout to stay oriented.
For precise values, set an exact degree in Position - Arrange.
To rotate multiple items at once, make a selection first, then rotate with the handle or by entering a number.
