How to Present Canva Presentation with Notes

I am going to show you how to present your Canva presentation with the speaker notes visible only to you. If you have a note on each slide and it is very important to see it while presenting, you need a way to view those notes without showing them to the audience. Presenting full screen hides the notes, and for me that is really bad.
In my example I have a note on a few slides. Presenting the document normally in full screen means I will not see any note. I want the notes to be viewable by me and not by the audience.
Present Canva Presentation with Notes setup
Click Present.
Click Presenter view.

Wait for the separate window to open.

This is the view we want to use. The separate window is almost like a control panel that shows information the audience will not see. It lets you run the presentation while keeping your notes in sight.

Present Canva Presentation with Notes control window
You can control which slide should open from this window. You can also open animations and use other features that are helpful during the presentation. The feature we really need here is the Note.

Every time you switch to another slide, the note updates immediately. If slide number one has a note and number two has a note, you will see each note as you move. If slide number three does not have a note, you can add a note on the fly, and that is really good.

Present Canva Presentation with Notes on a projector
You might find the control window blocking the view. If you are connecting your computer to a projector screen, move this window to your computer screen. The projector will show the presentation normally, and your laptop screen will show the control window with notes.

When you are done, close the control window. The presentation will stop. That is basically how you can open and use speaker notes during a presentation in Canva.

Final thoughts
Use Presenter view any time you need your notes in front of you and hidden from the audience. It gives you control over slides, animations, and the Note panel that updates as you present. If you need a paper copy for preparation, you can print your presentation notes.
