How to Duplicate a Slide in Canva

Duplicating a slide in Canva is quick and reliable. I use three ways to create a copy or duplicate a slide in a Canva presentation. Pick the one that fits your workflow.
Built-in option to Duplicate a Slide in Canva
The first method uses the built-in duplicating feature in Canva. It creates another slide that looks exactly like the one you selected.
Open your design and locate the slide thumbnail you want to copy.

Right click the thumbnail.

Click Duplicate to make an exact copy.

Keyboard shortcuts to Duplicate a Slide in Canva
Another method is the keyboard shortcut. It immediately creates the same slide.
Select the slide in the editor or on the thumbnail panel.

Press Ctrl+D on Windows or Cmd+D on Mac.

An identical slide appears right away.
If the new slide needs a different size, you can change the slide aspect ratio to match your project.
Copy and paste elements to Duplicate a Slide in Canva
The third method is a bit less conventional, but it can be useful in some cases. It duplicates by selecting all elements and pasting them into a new blank slide.
Navigate to the slide you want to copy.

Click anywhere on the canvas, then press Ctrl+A or Cmd+A to select all elements.

Press Ctrl+C or Cmd+C to copy everything.

Insert a new blank slide in the same design.

Press Ctrl+V or Cmd+V to paste the whole content.

The two slides are identical because they contain the same elements.
If you are preparing product visuals, you can also create a 3D book cover in Canva to showcase your designs.
Final Thoughts on Duplicate a Slide in Canva
You can duplicate a slide using the right click Duplicate command, the Ctrl+D or Cmd+D shortcut, or by copying and pasting all elements into a new slide. All three methods produce an identical slide, so use the one that feels fastest to you. This keeps your layout consistent while you build out the rest of your presentation.
