How to Get the Color Palette of a Photo in Canva

I will show you how you can get a color palette from a photo in Canva. I have these two photos and I really want to get the colors that are used in this particular photo. There could be millions of different colors on each photo, but we all need some prominent colors from that object.
I want to get this nice blue color. Canva already does that for you. There are two methods to get the color palette in Canva.
If you want to build a custom palette too, check this palette guide.
Get the Color Palette of a Photo in Canva
Styles panel method
Open Styles
Go to Design and open Styles.

Scroll to the very bottom.
You will see the image palette that Canva created for the photo.

These are colors Canva detected and may be appropriate for this image.

This is used to change the color design of your document.
You can click to get different colors based on the photo.

Limitation
This is not exactly useful if you need the color code.
You cannot really copy the color code from here.

If you are adjusting photo edges too, see how to blend edges in Canva.
Copy color codes from shapes or background
Insert a shape or pick an object
Go to Elements and insert any shape.

Or use a shape or any object that can be colored, including a background that you can access.
Pick a photo color
Click on the object.

Click Background color.
Under Photo colors you will see these colors.
Copy the hex
There will be a color code that you can copy.

If I want to get this nice blue color, I can click on it and it will be copied to my clipboard.

Final thoughts
These two methods help you get prominent colors from a photo. The Styles panel is quick for theme changes, and adding a shape or using a background lets you copy the exact color code you want. If you want a stylized look after color picking, try a cartoon effect with Canva AI.
