How to Add Hyperlinks in Canva Resume

I will show you how you can add a simple hyperlink to your document in Canva. If you have a resume and you want to feature your website or your online profile and make it clickable, Canva allows you to do that quite easily. You do not have to use any third party tool to make the link clickable.

Add Hyperlinks in Canva Resume: Link text

Select the text you want to turn into a link. A toolbar appears and you will see Link. Click it.

Enter the URL and click Done. The text becomes a link. If you do not like the underline, select the text and click Underline to toggle it off.

It is a good idea to distinguish links from regular text. If you do not want to use an underline, change the color or make the text bold so people know it is interactive. If your name or headings need special characters, see how to add accent marks in Canva.

You can also add a link to other elements, not just text. You can link the whole text box, a group, a shape, an icon, or a picture.

Right click the element and click Link. Paste the URL and click Done. The image or element will be clickable.

If you are linking images in your resume, it is good practice to add descriptive text for accessibility. Learn how to add alt text to pictures in Canva.

Download the document as a PDF. Open the PDF and hover the cursor over the linked text or image to confirm it changes to a hand icon. Click to open the website and confirm it works.

Adding links in Canva is quick. Select the item, click Link, paste the URL, and click Done. Style your links so they are easy to notice, and test them in the exported PDF to confirm they open correctly.
