How to Upload Your Own Font to Canva

How to Upload Your Own Font to Canva

I’m going to show you how you can upload your own font in Canva. Canva has a lot of fantastic looking fonts, but some fonts are not available, or you might want to use your own custom font in your Canva design. For example, I want to recreate the Google logo but I don’t have the appropriate font for it.

This is the actual Google logo, and this is the Google logo using a default Canva font, and it doesn’t even come close. I want to use the font that is used by Google, so I searched some font resources on the internet and found one on GitHub. You can download a font from a third-party website, and usually the format is TTF or OTF, and sometimes WOFF.

After the upload, I see the Google Sans font in the uploaded fonts section, and I can apply it to the text. Now I’ve got a logo that looks like the one from Google. It looks really close and works great in the design.

Upload Your Own Font to Canva: Licensing and Permissions

Not all fonts you find on the internet can be used in your projects. Some fonts are not meant for commercial use, so make sure you have the proper license before you upload and use a font. If you ignore licensing, someone could file a complaint because you used a font without permission.
